how to cope: part 7

i buy tons of stupid (read: nerdy) things on the internet. today i got these things in the post:

yeah i'm really into True Blood, which is an at times stupid, though really really fun and pretty great vampire tv series. (that's a poster)

i'm not really a spider-man fan (nor a marvel or any kind of superhero fan really. i've found through extensive comic book reading that i don't go for them, not the classic kind, not the Frank Miller/Alan Moore kind), but i am a very big Stephen Colbert fan and a big comic fan so this is pretty brilliant.

how to cope, part 6: how do i know what day it is?

mostly i don't, my days are just the same day over and over again. but! i know the difference between the weekdays and the weekend, because every day i watch the Daily Show and the Colbert Report.

(Chris Isaak is so pretty!)

how to cope, part 4

british comedy! lots of it. for a few days and nights i watched just about every Monty Python video on youtube, and i rewatched my favourite python film, The holy grail. i love Graham Chapman so much my heart could burst. i was sort of raised on monty python, though not by my british mum, but by my norwegian dad who knew all the good british comedy.

i particularly love Graham Chapman and John Cleese doing skits together, so here's my all-time favourite python skit Penguin on the telly, and the Throatwobbler Mangrove one, with the two of them.

ain't it fun

Chang and Eng

Do you remember
the original Siamese twins?

Chang and Eng.

They were joined at the chest.

Remember how they died?

Mm.

Chang...

..died of a stroke...

..in the middle of the night.

He was always the sickly one.

He was always the one
who drank too much.

When Eng woke up beside him...

..and found that his brother was dead,...

..he died of fright...

..right there in the bed.

how to cope, part 3

i don't have the energy or concentration or the will to read anything now. my mum gets me my favourite newspapers, and i want to read them, but they just lay there. but i do get to read some whenever i'm sitting in the waiting room at my doctor's, or for therapy, which is about 3-6 times a month. this is what i've been reading/re-reading:

Hussein Chalayan s/s 98

Christian Boltanski
